Kath. Kirche St. Michael
Die 1970 erbaute Kirche St. Michael in Uitikon Waldegg besticht durch einen speziellen Grundriss und dem zeltartigen Dach. Die Materialien Holz, weisser Verputz und Naturstein schaffen eine warme Atmosphäre. Mehrere Öffnungen versorgen die Kirche aus verschiedenen Richtungen mit Tageslicht und bilden spannende Akzente.
Die Sanierung der Kirche bot die Möglichkeit, die Lichtatmosphäre gänzlich zu überdenken. Im Vordergrund des Entwurfs stand das Tageslicht. Mit einem weichen Lichteinfall kann tagsüber eine angenehme Atmosphäre geschaffen werden, die es erlaubt, auf Kunstlicht zu verzichten. Den Mittelpunkt bildet das zentrale Oblicht, welchem als 'Licht des Himmels' bei Tag und bei Nacht eine grössere Bedeutung zukommt.
Das Dreieck wurde mit transluszentem Material zu einem Lichtkörper ausgebaut. Das eintretende Tageslicht lässt den Körper leuchten und verteilt sich sanft in den Raum. Am Abend wird der Körper durch integriertes LED-Licht zum Leuchten gebracht und bildet auch das zentrale Element der künstlichen Beleuchtung.

The church St. Michael in Uitikon Waldegg, built in 1970, captivates with its special ground plan and the tent-like roof. The materials wood, white plaster and natural stone create a warm atmosphere. Several openings supply the church with daylight from different directions and create exciting accents.
The renovation of the church offered the opportunity to completely rethink the lighting atmosphere. Daylight was the main focus of the design. With a soft incidence of light, a pleasant atmosphere can be created during the day, which makes it possible to work without artificial light. The central skylight forms the centrepiece, which is of greater importance as 'light from the sky' by day and by night.
The triangle has been extended with translucent material to form a body of light. The incoming daylight makes the body glow and spreads gently into the room. In the evening the body is illuminated by integrated LED light and also forms the central element of the artificial lighting.
