Stadttürme & Rathaus
Das eindrückliche Wahrzeichen der Stadt Zug, der Zytturm, steht an repräsentativer Lage am Eingang der Altstadt. Das Gebäude gehört zu den das Stadtbild prägenden Monumenten der Stadt Zug. Mit der sorgfältigen Beleuchtung wird das Stadtbild in der Nacht lesbar gemacht. Der davorliegende Kolinplatz erhält eine adäquate Präsenz im Stadtgefüge.
Durch das Tor des Zytturmes erreicht man den Fischmarkt mit dem Rathausgebäude und dem Rathauskeller. Die beiden Bauten bilden ein wichtiges Ensemble in der Zuger Altstadt.
Die drei beleuchteten Stadttürme gehören zur äusseren Stadtmauer, welche im 16. Jahrhundert gebaut wurde. Der Kapuziner-, der Huwiler- und der Pulverturm bilden zusammen mit dem unbeleuchteten Chnopfliturm die heute noch erhaltenen Bauten der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung.

The impressive landmark of the city of Zug, the Zytturm, stands in a representative location at the entrance to the old town. The building is one of the monuments that characterize the cityscape of Zug. With the careful lighting, the cityscape is made visible at night. The Kolinplatz in front of it receives an adequate presence in the urban district.
The fish market with the town hall building and the Rathauskeller can be reached through the gate of the Zytturm. The two buildings form an important ensemble in Zug's old town.
The three illuminated towers belong to the outer city wall, which was built in the 16th century. The Kapuziner, Huwiler and Pulver towers, together with the unlit Chnopfliturm, form the buildings of the medieval city fortifications that are still preserved today.
